Just BE ...a poem of sorts lol

The sun is out.
I go to sit in my rocker on the deck.
I sink down into its cushions to relax.
I feel the sun beating down on my body.
Its been a long winter,
I haven't felt this in ages.

I close my eyes and rest.
I hear the ducks on the lake,
the crows cawing
and the birds singing in the trees.
Its been a long winter,
I haven't heard this in ages.

I open my eyes and see
everything is finally turning green,
big puffy clouds hanging over the mountains
and a stunning azure sky above.
Its been a long winter,
I haven't seen this in ages.

I feel the heat soaking
into my old bones and skin.
It warms it while a cool breeze
blows over me.
Its been a long winter,
I haven't felt this in ages.

The dog pads around on the deck
finds a spot to settle in
and soaks up the sun.
For a moment its peaceful.
In that moment
I hear in the distance
the rolling thunder of my ocean.
And I realize that
I haven't really seen it in months.
Its been a long, long winter. 



(And then the peace was shattered
The dog barfed!
In 3 places, sigh
So I had to get up to clean it.

And so I got my watering can
filled it up
and drowned the barf thru the decking
off the porch.

Figured since its gonna be warm
a few days,
Id water the deck garden too
End of my peace.....)

SIGH lol
