Yes these are my toes in the sand! First time in way too many yrs. I loved it.
I went out last week to the beach finally. Its only down the street but its been rainy and nasty most of the time since I moved here. Last week we actually had a week of sunshine so I wandered down there. And so with everyone getting such cold snowy weather, I thought beach pictures might warm you up. No Im not rubbing it in.....its cold and rainy where I am most of the time. But I thought Id give you something to look forward to. :)
I found a parking spot , which will be unheard of come
summer and wandered down the walk by the Casino right to the beach. It
was a glorious sunny day.
People were out with their kids and some were
flying kites. Lots rolled up their pants and took off their shoes. I
took mine off once I crossed the rocks there. I have not had my toes in
sand in so many yrs, I cant even remember when I did it last. I lived
25yrs in Ca. and can count on one hand how often I was able to get to
the beach. It was a good 2hrs away.
I slipped off my shoes.........and felt the sun on my
face. Buttoned up my jacket cuz it was a cool breeze but otherwise I
was perfectly comfy.
A few yrs ago when Kurt and I came up for
vacation.....we walked this very beach for all of 10min. It was summer
and yet it was so windy and cold we were frozen and didn't stay long.
That's how it is up here. So you have to go for it when you can. And
boy did I!!!
Took lots of pics and then my camera jammed up. Don't
know why, I thought the battery was dead. So I wandered back to my car,
shook the sand out of my shoes, wiped my sandy feet on the grass and
put them back on. I decided to head out to some shops to see if I could
find some potting soil, planters and plants. The rest of the day I
could feel the sand in my toes and it made me smile. It was like
wearing sexy undies only nobody knew it lol. It was my lil secret as I
shopped.
Our weather has been absolutely gorgeous! I'm so glad you finally got to spend time on the beach. And now I know where you live on our Oregon Coast. You are near a very dear friend of mine. I'm often a bit envious of her trips to the beach so now I'll have two friends to tell me how wonderful the beach is - and I'll just think and dream of the day I can spend time on the beach. Maybe with you. Wouldn't that be fun?
